Seoul Plaza Ice Rink : Get ready for Seoul’s cheapest ice skating rink, which opens each winter at Seoul Plaza.  In this the public outdoor skating rink erected every December in front of Seoul City Hall. Generally closes around mid-February. To get there: City Hall Station (Subway Line No. 1 or 2) Exit No. 4. The timings are usually from Weekdays 10 am – 10 pm, Weekends 10 am – 11 pm. The entrance fee is W1,000/hours including skate rental (but not gloves, so bring your own or buy them on-site). The Online reservations are offered in Seoul plaza ice rink. Instructors for skating lessons are usually available.

Garden 5 Ice Skating Rink : It is located in front of the Life building within the Garden 5 Complex in Songpa, Seoul. The rink is an excellent venue for night skating. To get there : take line 8 to Jangji Station, Stop 819.The timings are: 10 am – 10 pm. The entrance fee is W2,000 Adults and W1,000 teens and children. The Skates rental is for W1,000 and beginner skating clases are W20,000/person.

Grand Hyatt Seoul Ice Rink : Grand Hyatt Hotel in Itaewon converts its outdoor pool into a skating rink from December to March. It is one of the Seoul’s classic skating venues. The Grand Hyatt is located up the hill from Hangangjin Stn. (line 6, exit 1). The rink is open to the public as well as to guests. The Skating lessons are available in Hyatt. The cost of using the rink and skate rental is considerably higher than some of the other locations, especially the public ones. However, the rink is less crowded. The rink offers a beautiful night view of the city. The timings and entrance fee as per: Mon – Thu: 12 pm – 5 pm (W20,000 + 10% VAT) and weekends, holidays and December 23rd – January 29th: 10 am – 10 pm (W25,000 + 10% VAT).

Gwacheon Sports Complex : It also has a skating rink and offers lessons, from learning to skate to figure skating, etc. Getting there: Take line 4 to Government Complex stop 439, exit 9. It excepts Korean people only.

Hangang Riverside Park : It has two rinks that operate for a short period in winter. Jamsil area in Songpa can be accessed via Sincheon Station, line 2, stop 217, Exit 7.

Mokdong Ice Rink : It is very popular and affordable. To get there go to Omokgyo Station on Line 5 (stop 521), take exits 2/3 and then walk about 10 minutes. The rink is part of a huge sports complex.

Olympic Park Ice Skating Rink : It is an outdoor rink open from December to mid-February. It is located amidst the grandeur of Olympic park. To get there, take subway Line 8 to Mongchontoseong station Exit #1, then take green bus #2412 or 2413 and get off at the Peace Plaza bus stop. The timings are: Weekdays 9 am – 9 pm, Weekends 10PM 9 am – 10 pm. The entrance fee is about W1000 for 90 minutes with skate rental W1,500.

Sangam Ice Skating Rink : It is located at World Cup Park Pyeonghwa Square in Seongsan-2-dong, Mapo-Gu. Getting there; take line 6 to stop 619, World Cup Stadium Station. The timings are: 10 am – 10 pm. The entrance fee is W1,000/hour. The skate rental is W1,000 Children under 4 yr o above are not admitted. The rink offers skating lessons for beginners and those at intermediate and advanced levels for W50,000, including skate rentals. There are five lessons in each session. Sledding facilities is also available.

Walker Hill Hotel Ice Skating Rink : It is open from December to mid-February. To get there take subway line 5 to Gwangnaru station exit #1, and then take the complimentary Walkerhill Hotel shuttle bus (departs every 20 minutes) or a taxi to the Sheraton Walker Hotel. The timings are: Noon to 9 pm weeknights, 10 pm weekdays. The Skate rental is around W12,000 with rink time W20,0000 weekdays or W30,000 weeknights. Children W14,000 and W20,000.

Sheraton Walkerhill Ice Rink : You have to take the hotel shuttle at Gwangnaru Stn (line 5, ex. 2). The timings are: Weekdays 12 pm – 9 pm, weekends 12 pm – 10 pm. The Entrance fee + Skate rental weekdays W32,000, weekends W42,000.
