Which god worship on the occasion ofGangaur Puja?
Gangaur comprises of two words, ‘Gana’ which means Lord Shiva and ‘Gaur’ which indicates Goddess Parvati or Gauri. So, on this puja, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parwati worship by the people.
What is the significance of the above occasion?

Images made up of clay of Gauri and Isar, colourful clothes, jewellery made up of besan, water in a vessel, roli, rice, diya, agarbatti, cloth, coin, thread, Ghewar and Gune, silver ring, grains of wheat; 7 in no., fresh grass, flowers.
What is the vidhi (method) of worship?
First of all the images of Isar and Gauri decorated with beautiful clothes and jewellery kept on a clean place at garden, johadwhere puja will take place with lighted diyas and agarbatti. Then some drops of water are thrown on them, roli, rice, cloth, money, thread areput on them and ghewar and gunas are offered to them. In Jaipur, Ghewar is a sweet dish mainly prepared for this puja enjoyed by people. They eat and distribute the same to their friends and family members and other relatives. With this, in Jaipur, a procession starts from the ZananiDeodhi of City Palace, moves through various markets and ends at near byTalkatora. People from all over the city participate in this procession.
On Gangaur, women and unmarried girls apply mehandi on their hands, wear good dresses, accessories, apply some make up, overall they look very attractive and beautiful.
What are the timings to celebrate this puja or occasion in a year?
This puja or occasion starts from the next day of Holi, another Hindu festival i.e. on the first day of the Chaitra and it continues for the next 15 days. So, It is a festival whichis celebrated for 16 days and for 18 days by the newly married girls. It mainly comes in March or April.

In Rajasthan and in some parts of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, this puja is celebrated and considered as important.
